How poker races work

Read the scoring before you chase the leaderboard.

A poker race is not the same as a standard cashback programme. It usually runs for a defined window and ranks eligible players by a score, often based on rake, tournament fees, hands, entries or another stated metric.

Rules vary. A room may add you automatically, require opt-in, exclude certain games, apply a stake band, or use a specific time zone. Always read the linked terms before choosing a game or deposit method.

  1. 01

    Check eligibility

Confirm your location, account status, eligible games and whether opt-in is required.

  2. 02

    Understand the score

Find out what earns points and whether the formula changes by stake, format or fee.

  3. 03

    Use the leaderboard

Track standings in the poker client or through the current room review while the race is active.

  4. 04

    Check prize timing

Review payout timing, prize tiers and any restrictions on tournament tickets before you enter.

Poker race FAQ

Before you join a race.

Use the room review for final eligibility, scoring and prizes.

What is a poker race?

A time-bound ranking where eligible play produces points or another score. The rules identify the qualifying games, the scoring method and the paid places.

Where can I see a poker race leaderboard?

Use the operator link on the relevant card. Some rooms place leaderboards inside the client while others publish standings or results on their promotion page.

Are poker races the same as rakeback?

No. Rakeback is usually a recurring return based on eligible fees. A race ranks players within a window, and a result may depend on position as well as qualifying play.

Can an exclusive poker race be added?

Yes. When one is available, this page will show its room, timetable, entry conditions, scoring, prizes and terms. We do not list an exclusive race before those details are published.
